Promotion of economic participation of young people (focusing on vulnerable groups) in selected rural municipalities in Serbia (consortium with Fakt Consult; SMART KOLEKTIV)
The objective of the BMZ-funded and GIZ-implemented project “Prospects for Young People in Serbia” is to improve economic and socio-cultural prospects of young people in rural areas by:
(1) enabling young people to actively engage for the improvement of their living environment through inclusive youth participation formats in selected pilot municipalities;
(2) enabling selected young people to design and implement a Youth Fund facility for inclusive community projects in rural areas (social cohesion, cultural life, physical infrastructure);
(3) improving advisory and networking services for the diversification of income opportunities for young people and returnees in rural regions: Demand oriented offers are developed (training courses, advisory services, access to financing and networks;
(4) implementing adapted formats which encourage and enable young people to participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of local policies. Staff and decision-makers of local municipal administrations are empowered to make existing formal processes more participatory. Target group: Beneficiaries of the project are disadvantaged young people in rural regions in Serbia and vulnerable groups, especially young Roma and returnees.
