QA4VET Partners Visit Offenbach
A delegation of experts from the field of vocational education in Armenia and Romania visited involas last week. As partners in the EU project “Quality Assurance for Vocational Education and Training” (QA4VET), in which involas is also involved, the guests were interested in examples of successful accreditation and quality assurance systems in the education sector.
Accompanied by representatives of the Hessian state programme QuABB (Qualified Training Support in Companies and Vocational Schools), the delegation visited, among other places, the training construction site of the Philipp-Holzmann-Schule in Frankfurt and exchanged views with the school management on quality management and development processes.
During their visit, the guests also became acquainted with the project office for the Quality Seal for Career and Study Orientation in Hesse. Since 2019, the certification process for this quality seal has been handled digitally. This offers numerous advantages for schools, audit teams, and all other parties involved. Hesse was therefore a nationwide pioneer in digitalising the process and, with its database, has developed a successful model that has already been adopted by other German federal states.
Funded under the EU programme ERASMUS+, the QA4VET project supports the further development of the accreditation system for Armenian vocational education institutions. In the project consortium, the Romanian National Agency for Quality Assurance in Pre-University Education, ARACIP (consortium leader), works together with the Armenian National Accreditation Agency ANQA, several vocational education institutions and a research institute in Armenia, as well as involas.
The EU partners contribute their experience from the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) and from international good practices in order to strengthen quality management in vocational education in Armenia together with the Armenian stakeholders. The project’s main thematic focus is on digitalisation and sustainability, which also play an important role in vocational education in Germany.
