Start of CONVIVIR III in Honduras

On April 15, 2024, the implementation of the “Living Together and Safe Spaces for Youth in Honduras (CONVIVIR III)” project in Honduras officially started. This initiative, driven by the Honduran Social Fund (Fondo Hondureño de Inversión Social, FHIS) with financial backing from the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), is dedicated to reducing youth violence, enhancing employability, and encouraging active youth participation in creating and maintaining safe community spaces.

The project spans four municipalities — Danlí, La Paz, Yoro, and El Progreso — and will be implemented over the next four years (2024-2028). Key components include constructing and upgrading social infrastructure and public spaces for youth, strengthening their professional and social skills, and improving the capacities of key stakeholders involved in the project. Additionally, technical assistance and advisory services will be provided to support the institutions responsible for the project’s implementation and monitoring.

Technical support and monitoring services are provided by a consortium. Settlement and Urban Management Consult (SUM) and us as lead partner. Our dedicated local team comprises three long-term experts, complemented by several short-term experts providing required specialized expertise.

We look forward to the positive impact of CONVIVIR III on the supported communities, creating new opportunities and a brighter future for the youth of Honduras. Together, we can make a difference and foster community empowerment and youth development!
